First way to stop temptation…
Don’t sleep with it.
Don’t cozy up in the bed,
Looking for warmth behind lust unfed.
Don’t get comfy out of character
Trying on new behaviors
Talking about “human nature”
Don’t smile at it
Or play with it
Or give in to the antics.
Don’t banter with temptation.
You’ll realize-too late-what you’re facing.
Take a chill pill.
But not one that lets down your guard.
Temptation takes a yard
With every inch
And a mile with every yard.
You’re fooling yourself if you think it’s that hard.
“Nah, not me.”
Careful not to be too big in your eyes.
*God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.
“I wouldn’t do that-it’s wrong.”
*God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose things lowly and despised, things that are not to nullify
The things that are.
Careful to think you’re too good to go that far.
No one may boast before God.
Temptation does NOT discriminate.
Even Jesus had his go ’round.
Be familiar as to how temptation sounds.
Sniff that joint out like a hound.
Be prepared so you’re not bound
To hit repeat.
Get out that pit before you know defeat.
Careful how you make your bed
‘Cause that’s how you’ll sleep.
And the last thing you need
Is temptation in those sheets.
