Horizontal Thoughts

Horizontal Thoughts.

Pressures from the night before
weighing on my body
Still
Waters
Reflecting the horizon
Will
You
Lay down next to me
And count the shapes
Made by the creases
Of your skin.
Let me in.
When I lay down
Let your mind
Wander where mine
Will not go.
Embrace a
Soft sense
Of vertigo.
The world spins
When I lay down.
I think it’s because
you come around
Around a time
I’m not entirely sound
In …

I think it’s because you come around around a time I’m not entirely sound of spirit or of mind so the entry is open for all sorts of twisted roads. I turn down too many paths to take scenic routes because I’m curious about the lay of the land, but that’s only gotten me sores on my hands, trying to find a way out of ignorance or bliss. Let me recall everything that led up to that kiss. Let me pause before there’s something I missed….

Let me lay down.
And think about
What to say
Before I make the same mistake
I was told not to make.
Too late?
The days about to break
And I’ve only gotten so far as
Can we wait?
